PWS Membership Card

The ParaVi Wine Society

Membership in the ParaVi Wine Society provides you with many exclusive benefits and frequent opportunities to purchase wines at a discount, including 20% off releases.

When you join, you agree to receive 2 to 4 shipments of two bottles of ParaVi wine per year.

Beginning in 2008, membership will also include exclusive access to additional services when you visit ParaVi including the ability to reserve bocce courts, purchase food and beer in addition to our wines, and other seasonal special offers. Members will have an opportunity to expand their membership to include these services and will be presented with a membership card that will open the door to these expanded services. Existing members will be notified when these expanded services become available.

Limited Production & Access

ParaVi is comitted to keeping our total wine production to no more than 3000 cases a year, and to the production of only our 4 signature varietals. We impose this limit by choice in order to maintain the highest quality product possible.

ParaVi wines are only available directly from the winery and through membership in the ParaVi Wine Society. We never sell to distributors or restaurants. We have never entered our wines into competitions or participated in wine tasting events outside our own tasting room. By doing this we focus on crafting our premium products and making your association with ParaVi Vineyards an exclusive, and memorable experience.

Wine Care

Please don't damage ME (wine)!

  • Keep me upright from the winery to your car.
  • Keep me upright and cool during my ride home. The upright position maintains the air space between me and my cork. This allows a little room for me to expand without compromising my cork.
  • Once home, take me to my room. Your cellar, kitchen, wine fridge or closet is fine with me! Just keep me upright for a day or two so I can acclimate to the temperature and settle down after my ride home.
  • Rule of thumb: If it's too hot or cold for an infant or your pet in your car, it's too hot for me!

Storing Me:

  • I am accustomed to being cellared at 62 degrees and hit my perfect drinking temperature of 64 degrees really fast once you have pulled me from my bed and popped my cork. I really like to be opened at 64 degrees and finished by 68 degrees. ParaVi considers this to be the perfect temperature, range and time. Anything warmer or colder and especially open longer than 4 hours, well I am considered "Off". Anytime you taste at ParaVi, you will have tasted at this temperature and never from a wine that has been opened for more than 4 hours. "Room Temperature" is 64 degrees when it comes to ParaVi wine. If you lay me down on my side before I acclimate, I will start expanding and I will either start leaking or worse yet burst my cork! Either way, I am sure to spoil since now my cork has been compromised! After I acclimate it is safe to lay me on my side until you are ready to enjoy me with a nice meal and some friends!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I have been charged for a ParaVi Wine Society shipment, but have not received my wine. Why is this?

A: When you joined the ParaVi Wine Society, you had to decide how you would receive your shipments. If you chose to have the wine shipped to you, the wine is automatically charged and shipped to you upon release. If you chose to pick up your wine in person, we hold your shipment at ParaVi for 2 weeks in order to allow you time to pick up your wine. After 2 weeks we will charge your card and then cellar your wine until your next visit.

Q: When I joined the ParaVi Wine Society, I specified that all my wine was to be shipped. I have been charged, but I still have not received my wine. Why is this?

A: During certain parts of the year temperatures are too hot to ship our wine. To protect your investment, we hold the wine until the weather is acceptable. If you have concerns about your shipment, please call us at (530) 647-9463 or email us and we will prompty respond.

Q: What do I do with the wine once I receive a shipment?

A: Open the shipping box immediately! Stand me upright for at least one day in my new cellaring temperature before laying me on my side! I do not like to be shipped when it is too hot or freezing outside. The UPS truck is not a climate controlled luxury car! In fact, I can get very agitated during my travels so please wait a day or two for me to calm down before you drink me!

Q: Why is there sediment or crystals on the cork?

A: If you find crystals at the bottom of a cork or sediment at the bottom of the bottle, more than likely you are into a very HIGH END bottle of wine. Crystals or Sediment may form in your wine; these are called Tartrates and are formed from the potassium and tartaric acid naturally found in grapes and wine. ParaVi has excluded a process called "Cold-Stabilization" (freezing the wine). We not only avoid this process but we make every effort to ensure that ParaVi wines retain their full bouquet and textural integrity through traditional winemaking methods. We recommend decanting or pouring the last few drops into your friend's glass. This way you avoid any sediment in your glass and you score points for giving away the last pour.
